Outdoor air-cooled chiller with axial-flow fans

This type of refrigerating machine requires indoor installation. The cooling process of the condenser is carried out by means of axial-flow fans. There are two definite advantages of this type of cooling machines. They are the relatively low cost and the ability of using any free space for the installation such as roof area, free esplanade and etc. However some limitation is in the maintenance work on such units. They need seasonal water drain; the water or other liquid in has to run out of the evaporator, leaving it empty. The alternative to this procedure is the use of non-freezing solutions for example such as ethylene glycol or propylene glycol. Some brands can possibly offer cooling devices that are less noisy. Such changes as propeller speed reduction and propeller blade configuration can essentially decrease the sound-power level of the whole unit. These features can make this type of refrigerating machine more costly in comparison with another “noisy” unit of the same cooling power.

Indoors air- cooled chiller with axial-flow fans

This type of refrigerating machine requires indoor installation. Air intake for cooling the condenser is implemented by air ducts. Centrifugal fans are used to move the air. The first main advantage of this type is its “hidden” installation (no outdoor units) and the second one is that this type can operate year-round at any outside temperature. Disadvantages: However this cooling unit has drawbacks as well. It requires sizeable area to be placed in and supplementary ventilator costs.

Water-cooled chillers

This type of refrigerating machine requires indoor installation. Here intermediate heat-transfer material is used for cooling the device`s condenser, the heat-transfer agent is cooled in its turn in water-cooling towers or natural running water resources can also be used for this purpose. The latter feature makes this type of chillers ideal for industrial use in case the factory or whatever it is has a nearby body of running water. Water-cooled refrigerating machine can operate the whole year round due to its “free cooling”. In spite of the high cost, power-intensity and operation complexity this type of chillers can be the only possible solution for some industries.

Double-acting chillers (cooler/ heat pump)

Some models of air-cooled devices can be designed to operate in cooling mode as well as air-heating mode by means of the heat pump. This let use the system not only for cooling air in the buildings during summer period but also heat the air transition period.

Chillers with detachable condenser

This type of refrigerating machines as a rule is designed on the basis of air cooled chillers with water-cooled condenser. The unit itself is placed inside and is connected with the outdoor condenser where freon is used in the system. Moreover unlike water-cooled refrigerating devices this type of cooling units does not require the use of intermediate heat-transfer agent in the condenser, thus, there is no need to use power circulating pumps. However the distance between compressor-evaporating unit and condensing unit is limited.

In spite of the fact that these refrigeration devices are intended to cool they vary greatly due to their design, purposefulness and functionality. Here some of them:

Absorbing chillers

As the main source of energy for the cooling process absorbing units use either hot water at a certain temperature (130 C) or superheated vapour (under pressure up to 1 bar). Thus, the use of low-temperature or secondary energy resources such as a thermal power plant, waste incineration plant, power plant and others will effect an essential saving in developing cooled water. As a rule it is used distilled water in the capacity of refrigerating fluid and lithium bromide as an absorbent. Besides the economy of energy supply there is one more definite advantage over other types of refrigerating machines. This absorbing type contains very few moving parts in the structure and as a result this fact provides high reliability of the unit. The only central failure is that absorbing type of refrigeration device has higher expenditure of energy than compressive ones. Also it should be noted that they are costly to buy and maintain.

Compressive chillers

The widest class of air cooled chillers are based on compressive cooling cycle where fundamental structural components are a compressor, evaporator, condenser and a flow control device. All the structural components are connected sequentially with each other by tubing and thus form a closed system where the compressor is responsible for the circulation of the refrigerating fluid (freon). The cooling process in the refrigerating device is provided by persistent circulation, boiling and condensation of the refrigerant in closed system. The boiling of the refrigerating fluid (freon) is the result of low pressure and temperature.

Vaporous refrigerating fluid is sucked in by the compressor which increases its pressure. Further on the hot vaporous refrigerating fluid is cooled and condensed; it passes into a liquid phase. The condenser can be either air or water it depends on constructive execution of the refrigerating system.

After that the liquid refrigerant being at high temperature and under pressure moves on to the flow control device where the pressure decreases dramatically, as a result some of the liquid can turn into vapour passing into gas phase. Thus the blend of gas and liquid gets into the evaporator. The liquid boils in the evaporator absorbing the heat from the cooling medium and pass into a vaporous state again. The size of the evaporator is designed to let the liquid completely be converted into vapour inside it. That is why the temperature of the steam coming from the evaporator is higher than the boiling temperature and this results overheating of the refrigerant in the evaporator. In this situation even the smallest drops of the refrigerant evaporate and no liquid gets into the compressor. After that overheated vapour coming out from the evaporator renews the cycle. Thereby the refrigerating fluid constantly circulating changes its state of aggregate from liquid into vaporous and vice versa. This information is hoped to give you some ideas about absorbing and compressive chillers.

(1888PressRelease) The badenlederhosen craze continues for 2020. Peter Goach is a brand of swimwear which uses traditional Austrian designs. Lat years collection won a lot of fans the most famous one being the Governor of California Arnold Schwazeneger, who originates from the same area, namely Stria , Austria. This years swimwear collection is much more substantial with many new designs and colours.

Styria, Austria – The 2009 Badelederhosen craze returns for 2010. Peter Goach, the designer who made Arnold Schwarzenegger jump with joy when he realised he could wear his home country’s traditional shorts around his swimming pool in California, launches his 2010 collection.

With new colours and traditional patterns, Peter Goach’s Original Brands are set to repeat last year’s hit, which had thousands of people yodeling before jumping from their pool spring boards.

Sexy bikinis, adorned with Styria’s Alpine symbols, are included in this year’s collection. The ‘added support’ version ensures that the more athletic ladies can also indulge in their favourite sports.

The Peter Goach Originals brand, which has quickly picked up a faithful following, has already made some solid agreements for its products, which will also be made available through Niki Lauda’s Airline, flyniki. The collection is also available in a series of sports shops in Austria and Germany. Peter Goach is also in discussion with various outlets in the UK, France, Spain, Portugal, Poland, the US and Australia.
In the coming days Peter Goach Original Brands are launching their brand new website/online store www.petergoach.com , where the entire collection will be available to be purchased from the comfort of your own home. This year, the Peter Goach collection includes Men’s and Women’s Badelederhosen, Bikinis, designer T-Shirts, caps and flip flops to complete that modern/traditional summer look.

Speaking about his 2010 collection from his Traditional Styrian restaurant in Vienna, Peter Goach mentioned that “I am very happy with this year results because we have picked up from the 2009 success and have propelled it into a more substantial collection. I believe the ladies will appreciate the new very sexy bikinis and sleeveless T-shirts whilst the men will enjoy the experience of wearing a piece of Alpine tradition on an exotic beach. The response from the retail outlets has been very positive, which proves we have got it right once again. But we will not stop at swimwear; reviving centuries-old tradition through contemporary clothing has always been my dream. We started with the Badelederhosen and we will continue developing our basic concept and brand through hundreds of other products. Watch this space – this is just the beginning”.

Peter Goach’s, PG Original Brands is a designer clothing brand which is constantly inspired by the Alpine Austrian tradition. It launched in 2009 and was met with huge success worldwide.

Peter Goach personally designs his collections from his studio in Styria, Austria and makes it available in retail stores and his online shop. His star product, the Badelederhosen, which literally translated means the bathing Lederhosen (the traditional leather Alpine short) has proven to be a hit amongst celebrities like the Governor of California, Arnold Shwazeneger and ex Formula 1 champion and now owner of flyniki, Niki Lauda.
