Speech For Wedding – Mannerisms

The tradition of speech for wedding is simply a beautiful one. At the wedding there are so many things that the bridal couple might be thinking of. There could be endless apprehensions that they would have- it is a perfect time for the friends and family to come together and say that they would be there for them as the bridal couple would need them. Not that though these speeches, the word their feelings and make the couple feel super special.

There is an order of the wedding speeches that need to be followed. It is not that any one and every one would stand and say what they have to. There are rules and mannerisms associated with the tradition. The father of the bride speech is the first to go, followed by a speech delivered by the father of the groom. After that the groom gets the chance to say a few words and the same is ended by the bets man speech. Time has chanced and there are more additions to these mentioned speeches. But no matter who is delivering the speech there are certain mannerisms that one should stick to like code of conduct to make the speech for wedding the way it should be.

The following are the reasons that why some wedding speeches would look more elegant than the others –

  • When you are the groom or the bride and you are the one to whom the toast is raised to you should not be raising your glass. Also once the person has delivered the wedding speech in your honor and is raining the toast. You should be the last one to sip from the glass once all the relatives and guests would have taken their.
  • Adding jokes is good. But adding jokes which could make someone uncomfortable should not be the once that you should be reciting. You should be politically right while delivering the speech.
  • The choice of words could be another thing. Offensive words or words that could be objected to should not be used. You might not intent to mean them, but people who are there would not know about the occasion and there would be a lot of miscommunication because of the same. So it is better to be away from these controversies by dropping such words for the wedding speech at least.
  • Talks which could embarrass the bride and the groom should be left out. Things indicative of love making, romance, honeymoon might sound right for the occasion, but that might make the bridal couple uncomfortable.
  • Referring to a past relationship for the bride or the groom would be a big no no! You should never bring this up. This could be the most delicate thing to handle in case you said some thing that you were not supposed to. Don’t be the reason of conflict between the newly wedded. Simply avoid such topics.
  • Eating a chewing gum or sipping from you glass reflects very poorly of you while you are making the wedding speech. You might think that you are being really cool but then the reality is just the opposite.
  • Stand and deliver the speech. Don’t lean against the table or have your hands on it. Stand up straight and deliver the speech gracefully.

Last but not the least, hitting the glass with the spoon is not the way to grab attention while making the speech for wedding. You should stand slowly to gather the attention and start with your speech with a firm voice.
