Brief Guide to Super Duplex Steel Fasteners

The term “Super-Duplex” refers to a highly alloyed, high-performance Duplex steel with a pitting resistance equivalent of >40 (based on Chromium% + 3.3 Molybdenum% + 16 Nitrogen%). Super Duplex Steel Fasteners provide excellent resistance to acids, acid chlorides, caustic solutions, and other environments in the chemical/petrochemical, pulp, and paper industries, and are frequently used to replace stainless steel 300 series, high nickel super austenitic steels, and nickel-based alloys due to their high chromium content.

Screws, bolts, nuts, washers, anchors, rivets, studs, hex nuts, stud bolts, plain washers, heavy hex nuts, T bolts, eye bolts, coupling nuts, machine screws, jam nuts, lock washers, and more Super Duplex Steel Fasteners are available. Intergranular and pitting corrosion resistance is improved by the chemical composition, which contains high levels of chromium, nickel, and molybdenum. Nitrogen additions boost structural hardening through an interstitial solid solution process, which increases yield and ultimate strength without compromising toughness. Furthermore, when compared to standard stainless steel, the dual-phase microstructure ensures greater pitting resistance and stress corrosion cracking resistance.

These Super Duplex 2507 Fasteners are extremely strong and resistant to pitting, crevice corrosion, and general corrosion. It contains 25% chromium, 4% molybdenum, and 7% nickel, and has a 50/50 microstructure of austenite and ferrite, resulting in increased strength above ferritic and austenitic steel grades. Because of the potential of a deterioration in toughness, it is not recommended for applications that require protracted exposures to temperatures above 570 degrees F.

UNS S32750 Super Duplex Steel Fasteners are made to withstand corrosive environments and situations requiring great strength. Super Duplex UNS S32750 has high molybdenum, chromium, and nitrogen content, which helps the fasteners resist pitting and crevice corrosion. They also have good weldability and great mechanical strength and are resistant to chloride stress corrosion cracking, erosion-corrosion, corrosion fatigue, and general corrosion in acids.

Fasteners made of Super Duplex Steel UNS S32750 are widely utilized in a variety of industries, including power generation, marine, chemical, pulp and paper, petrochemical, water desalination, and oil and gas production.

Greater tensile and yield strength, improved corrosion resistance compared to Duplex Steel, lower material costs without sacrificing material quality, good stress corrosion cracking resistance (SSC), good ductility and toughness, and so on are some of the specifications of Super Duplex Steel Fasteners. This alloy can withstand a wide range of acidic environments. Our high-grade Super Duplex Steel Fasteners have great tensile strength, a superb finish, outstanding resistance to pitting and crevice resistance, good workability, and durability.

UNS S32950 Super Duplex Steel Shipbuilding, heavy machinery, power generating, oil and gas, electrical equipment, agricultural uses, and other industries use fasteners.
