Imprtance of Hajj in Islam

The sayings and instructions of Prophet Muhammad Mustafa (PBUH) are one of Islam’s most important pillars. In Islam, guidance is sought first from the Qur’an and then from the Sunnah or Hadith, and the significance of Hajj has been emphasized by both.

According to Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (RA), the Holy Prophet (SAW) said: Islam is founded on five principles. Witnessing that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is His Messenger, establishing prayers, paying Zakat, performing Hajj to Allah’s House, and fasting in Ramadan. Let us examine the religious significance of Hajj and its usefulness in daily life.

The religious significance of Hajj…..

Most importantly, Hajj has been included among the fundamental tenets of Islam, as evidenced by Hadith. Every year, Muslims perform various duties to prepare for Hajj, This takes place between the 8th and 12th of Zul-Hijjah

This group of acts of worship as a whole is called Hajj and all acts of worship are called rituals of Hajj. According to Islam, Every able-bodied adult Muslim who can afford it has a once-in-a-lifetime responsibility to perform Hajj.

In Surah Al-Imran, verse 97 of the Holy Qur’an, it is stated: The pilgrimage to this house (Kaaba of Allah) is obligatory upon the people for Allah (whoever can reach it) and whoever denies (it) then surely Allah is free from need of all worlds.

Jihad for women…..

According to a hadith related by Ibn Majah, Hazrat Ayesha (may Allah be pleased with her) asked the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him): We know jihad is best. Shall we not wage jihad?

In response to the question, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) stated, “No.” Hajj Mabror is the best jihad (for women). According to another Ibn Majah narration, Umm Al-Mumineen Hazrat Ayesha Siddiqah (RA) asked, “Is Jihad obligatory on women as well?” He said, “They are obliged to wage a jihad in which there is no bloodshed and that is the Hajj”.

Ruling on not performing Hajj despite financial strength…

According to Hadith-e-Mubarakah, a person who has all of the necessary equipment for Hajj and also has a ride that can take him to Bait-ul-Allah. If he still does not perform Hajj, it does not matter whether he dies as a Jew or a Christian.

According to the hadith, anyone who does not perform Hajj is a disobedient servant of Allah and Allah doesn’t care if he converts to Islam or is a believer. While Islam is the name given to the practice of adhering to Allah Almighty’s will,

Short method of performing Hajj…

Each year, a large number of Muslims gather in Saudi Arabia. After entering ihram from the specified Hajj meeqat, pilgrims visit Allah’s Kaaba, where Tawaf and Qadoom are conducted.

During Tawaf, the pilgrims raise their voices loudly and say لبیک اللھم لبیک. And, if possible, they kiss the Black Stone to follow the Prophet’s Sunnah.

After Tawaf and Qadoom, the pilgrims depart for Mina, where they spend the day of Al-Tarwiyah. After then, there will be a one-day break in Arafat . This day is known as Arafa Day, Sa’i Day, and the Eid of Sacrifice. On the same day, Muslims shave their heads completely. Then the pilgrims throw stones at the devil, after which perform Tawaf.e.Izafa in Makkah. After Tawaf-e-Afaza, pilgrims travel to Mani, where they spend the days of Tashreeq.
Following that, return to Mecca. The Hajj ceremonies are concluded after the farewell tawaf.

The Companions of the Holy Prophet (saw) Hazrat Umar Farooq R.A wanted to impose Jizyah on Muslims who did not perform Hajj because they did not consider such people to be Muslims, according to Sunan-e-Saeed.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Whoever performs Hajj only for the sake of Allah and does not commit any vain thing or sin during that time, then he returns (as if he was cleansed) from the womb.

Pilgrims are Allah’s guests, and their prayers are accepted, which is why we ask for prayers almost every occasion of the year to be blessed with Hajj, especially during the holy month of Ramadan. May Allah bless us all to visit the Kaaba.
